“For those of you that think grime’s made a comeback, I wanna tell you that Grime’s always been here. It didn’t just disappear for the last 15 years”, Marc Veira, the man behind the Flowdan moniker, calls out to the crowd at a Dummy Mag presents Tru Thoughts gig earlier this year. Flowdan is one of the key figures responsible for developing the blueprints to the Grime scene. Alongside his contemporaries - Wiley, JME, Skepta, Jammer, Double E and Footsie - today he stands as one of the father figures to a movement which started out with a couple of instrumentals, a radio transmitter and a mic.

Out 10th June on Tru Thoughts, “Horror Show Style” unleashes a taste of new material from UK grime crew Roll Deep’s MC Flowdan ahead of his upcoming album 'Disaster Piece' (out 15th July).

Lead single “Horror Show Style” is a heavy grime tune which will make you listen up and shudder. Repping his ends, Flowdan’s distinctive flow demonstrates the more exonerated and reckless MC-ing for which he’s become renowned, the collision of his raw, booming delivery and the dutty bassline hitting you full in the face. Speaking out from the perspective of a revolutionary soldier with a Malcom X twist, his lyrics are not to be confused with the petty agendas of your unconsidered violent road man. Flowdan lays down political roots which preach claims against the system not against a person. “Horror Show Style” was produced by Splurgeboys who have had credits on records by Skepta, Tinie Tempah, Ghetts, Giggs, and Jammer.
